Purpose Defeated

Thu Oct 22, 2009, 4:29 PM
I took the SOL today for writing; it was the essay part. They gave us dictionaries, to "check our spelling". Am I the only one who believes this defeats the already outdated and weak purpose of the SOL? How is the essay going to be in any way indicative of my talents as a writer and my knowledge of vocabulary if I have the whole language at my fingertips?

Also, I went on Cleverbot for the first time today, and it accused me of being a Clever Bot. It said I was robotic, in college, and my sentences were too complicated. It also tried to convince me that I made a typo, and I shot it down. The thing must've apologized to me at least 10 times in 20 minutes. I felt happy afterwards.

Lastly, Michael Sheen is in New Moon? This hurts me deeply.

That is all.

Nostalgia Alert

Tue Jul 21, 2009, 3:05 PM
So, one random typo in the search bar and I've been re watching Yugioh abridged for the first time in months. I haven't laughed so much at one time. Yet, at the same time I've been filled with a real sense nostalgia for this ridiculous show I watched when I was 10 years old.

Then I randomly started searching actual episodes, subbed because the 4kids version would probably make my ears explode. and I realized that I remembered a lot of the episodes from years back, and that the English version really is crappier than the original! No wai. In addition, in the original Kaiba isn't actually a total asshole. then I felt mildly justified for his having been my favorite character all those years. Oh, childhood.

Don't judge me!

Takes time to reflect? Hmmm.

Roughly, there are two weeks remaining in my school year, the days of which are to be riddled with ridiculous ceremonies and bubble sheets. Though, I can't say I'm not looking forward to it. The next cycle will bring some new life to my now helplessly boring existence, and though the end of the school year means a departure from my classmates for a time, it also means that I get to have some time away from some genuinely annoying people. You know who you are. Don't worry, the separation will soften our hearts. Here comes another summer, never to be endless.

I should say in explanation that my television is usually tuned to one of four channels: Discovery, CNN, C-Span, or Blank.

So, what I'm about to say may seem shocking, unbearable, and some of you may need to take a seat. I think... I may start watching Heroes.

Oh, my GOD, are you okay?! BREATHE!

Don't- no- sit. Listen, calm down. I know you're freaked out, but it's the truth. I don't know how else to say it. It just seems like something fun to latch on to, and besides, I could stand to have non-wonk related televisional nutrition in my schedule, right? You understand, don't you? I must admit, that it's kinda due to Zachary Quinto. who could make a serial killer look like a puppy ( oh wait, you probably don't even get that) but, still. I have a soft spot for sci-fi. Oh, please, get your inhaler, you're making me nervous. No wait, I'll get it, don't move!

Oh, September, how wistfully I await your arrival!
